Can you play outdoors?
Yes! However, for the safety of our instruments we absolutely require some kind of overhead protection (can have open sides) and a ground cover. Contact us with the particulars of your event. We would be happy to work with you.
What parts of a wedding ceremony can you provide music for?
~Prelude music: 20-30 minutes of music while your guests are arriving. This is often nice with just solo harp and piano.
~Seating of the mothers (optional): A special song while the mothers are being escorted to their seats.
~Processional for attendants
~Processional for bride: This can be the same as the attendant's piece if the wedding party is small. It can be lovely to have the violin and recorder join the piano and harp for the first time when the bride enters.
~Mid-ceremony piece: During family prayer, meditation, or lighting of the unity candle. You can have more than one piece mid-ceremony!
~Recessional: A rousing tune just after you are announced as husband and wife!
~Postlude: Two or three songs as your guests are exiting the building.
Of course, this is just a general plan, we love to tailor each event to the clients wishes!
Can you play during a reception?
Yes! We can provide mellow background music during a cocktail hour or reception. However, we do not play dance music.
What are your charges?
Each event is unique and charges will vary accordingly. Rates start at $400 for the quartet, and $200 for solo harp. We are also available as a duo or trio. Please contact us with the details of your event and ask for a specific quote.
What about themed events or special costumes?
We have always enjoyed historical costumes and themed parties. At present we have both Celtic and medieval costumes to assist you in forming the special ambiance of your choice. We also enjoy arranging new music and may be able to find some movie themes or other music to enhance your theme. We would be delighted to work with your to create a unique program for your event.
